La Costa de Chile - Fly Fishing Patagonia's CoastChile Patagonia Fly Fishing"Coastal Chile is definitely "THE PLACE"! The most incredible rainbow fishing I've ever seen" Paul Guernsey (Former Editor, Fly Rod and Reel Magazine).
Our pioneering of Chile's coastal fjords fishery was beautifully featured in Fly Rod & Reel magazine. The remote area surrounding the spectacular Queulat and Isla Magdalena National Parks and the Puyuhuapi Canal and is truly Chile's "Big Fish Heaven" and the rugged fjords and islands provide the backdrop for one of the world's most unique and interesting fly fishing adventures. Introductions of trout and salmon along the coast of Chile have been highly successful and now impressive populations of large trout and salmon can be found cruising in "the salt" and up the lower reaches of the many coastal streams in Chilean Patagonia.
To add to the experience, anglers may also fish for the native "Robalo", a wary and hard fighting fish quite similar to a florida redfish that feeds primarily on small crabs in the shallow flats areas all along the coast of Chilean Patagonia. They are also an exquisite fish to eat. All of these fish are extremely voracious, readily attacking a fly, and anglers often catch (and release) several fish in the 5-10 pound range each day, some even larger! Sea-run rainbow trout are the most abundant species but, sea-run Brown Trout, Coho, King and Atlantic Salmon, may also be encountered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kI0I4vTCw0 We offer a coastal add-on to a stay at "La Posada de los Farios" or, an extended coastal fjords program that offers anglers the opportunity to fish a variety of spectacular "big fish" locations along the coast. Anglers will stay at the comfortable guest cabins located within Queulat National Park or, at a local hosteria (Chilean B&B) in Puerto Cisnes.
Fjords Mothership Exploratory For truly adventurous anglers we offer an exciting mothership fly fishing exploratory utilizing the Noctiluca, a comfortable 60 ft. live-aboard motor yacht as our mobile base. This allows us to access several remote and pristine coastal rivers impossible to reach by other means and brings us to waters that seldom, if ever, see an angler's fly. These trips are limited to a maximum of just 4 angler and itineraries can be individually personalized to fit the desires of each particular group. Season: November through April. |
